Master of Arts Program in Speech-Language Pathology. University of Florida

The program in Speech-Language Pathology, accredited by the American Speech-Language-
Hearing Association, offer comprehensive academic training and clinical experience in a wide variety of settings. A unique feature of the University of Florida clinical programs is the diversity of clinical populations. Students will obtain clinical experience in at least three of the following sites: the University of Florida Speech and Hearing Clinic; several clinics within the university's teaching hospital (Communicative Disorders, Otolaryngology, Craniofacial, Pediatric, Cerebral Palsy, Dentistry, Dysphagia, and Children's Mental Health); the nearby Veterans Administration Medical Center; Tacachale, a residential facility for the intellectually impaired; public school programs; local private practices; and other medical, rehabilitative, and educational facilities within and outside the Gainesville community. In these settings, students will have the opportunity to explore state-of-the-art technology, assessment, and treatment.

The graduate program, typically five semesters, culminates in the completion of either a clinical internship or a Master's thesis. The comprehensive program provides graduates with a solid foundation for a career in speech-language pathology.
